Gyeonggi-Do offers more than just the typical nightlife scene – these unique experiences and night spots are magic!
While Gyeonggi-do during the day is something most people visit, exploring the city at night offers a completely different experience. You can watch how the lights light up the city and illuminate.
Dongtan Lake Park Luna Show
Dongtan Lake Park Luna Show is a fountain event in Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi-do. It is one of the main attractions of the city where you can explore both sea and land. The city is also home to Jebyeodo Island, one of the most famous attractions.
Dongtan Lake Park offers a welcome escape from the urban bustle. Originally a mountain stream reservoir, it has been transformed into a haven of relaxation and wellness. Wide grassy fields along the lake and a dedicated picnic area provide ample space for outdoor activities, picnics, or simply enjoying the fresh air.
‘Luna’, the Latin word meaning the moon, is the primary theme of the fountain. The Luna Fountain is a symbolic masterpiece honoring the city’s history and legends, with its design reflecting collective memories.
The fountain show
The Dongtan Lake Park Luna Show is one of the main attractions, featuring more than 200 different fountain nozzles, special effects, and lighting. And all this spans over a 700m area of the reservoir. Six towering fountains shoot water up to 40 meters high, creating a majestic display. Specialized nozzles rotate a full 360 degrees, ensuring a dynamic water dance. It’s very European style with its content and being built with steel, the fountain evokes the elegance of the Eiffel Tower, adding a Parisian touch to the park.
A breathtaking laser and water fountain show is a a nightly spectacle that unfolds with water, lights, videos, lasers, and more. Imagine watching a stereoscopic video projected on a giant “Corona Screen” while over 200 water jets dance 60 meters high in perfect harmony with the music and visuals. This 50-minute multimedia extravaganza is absolutely free. The park and the light show are perfect for a romantic evening stroll or a fun family outing under the stars.
With its vast grassy areas and walking trails, Dongtan Lake Park offers a delightful mix of nature and entertainment. It is a perfect spot for relaxation and creating lasting memories with loved ones.

Imjingak Supul Nuri Park
Supul Nuri Park is another one of the night spots in Gyeonggi-do you must check out. It’s not very popular but once you visit, you won’t be disappointed.
You can enjoy romantic night strolls with mystical lighting and media art. There’s even a laser show that you can enjoy if you are visiting between Wednesday and Sunday. High-intensity lasers are displayed on the waterfront around the deck, creating a mysterious feeling. It looks like light is spread out like waves. And you can enjoy it while taking a stroll along the deck.
The ‘Hana Tree or Hanaguru’ is basically the most iconic tree in this park, and it looks like it belongs to a fairy tale. Maybe there’s a rabbit hole for you to go down! This tree is said to be planted with the desire of North and South Korea becoming one.
There are two giant flower buds, Pulseong, in the park which light up at night and they spread open, like a blooming flower. When you come near the flowers, the sensor activates and the flowers spread out. The two flowers are also different – one is North Korea’s Mountain Magnolia and the other is South Korea’s Rose of Sharon. The display even has two gates – Baekdumun Gate of Mount Baekdu, symbolizing North Korea and Hallamun Gate at Hallasan Mountain, symbolizing South Korea.
