About Jangsan Mountain
Jangsan is located 634 meters above sea level, in Haeundae District, which is well-known for its top-rated Haeundae Beach. It also has a plethora of wonderful tourism destinations.
It’s a 9.2-mile round that may take up to 5 hours to climb up and back down. As a result of the Korean War, you may still see vestiges of it when you encounter landmine signposts in some defined areas of the mountain. These are signs indicating that there is an active land minefield on the mountain.
The 634-meter-high Jangsan is a popular weekend destination for hikers from all over the peninsula, with a variety of well-maintained trails divided up according to the difficulty level. Much of the year, it is a top-rated trekking destination. Beautiful sights, such as a rejuvenating waterfall, draw people out in the summer.
Aside from the stunning ocean views, the mountain’s expansive silver grass fields, which are at their most beautiful from October to mid-November, are a sight to behold. Reflecting the light, the turf creates a silver wave effect that extends all the way to the horizon. Jangsan Mountain in Haeundae-gu is the greatest place to appreciate and view gorgeous silver grass fields.
Jangsan Mountain boasts a panoramic view of downtown Busan and the adjacent ocean dotted with bridges connecting small islands and districts. According to the Haeundae government office, the place is regarded as one of the 12 most beautiful places in Haeundae.

Hiking Jangsan Mountain in Busan
The majority of hikers begin their journey at Daecheon Park. The path from the park to the valley’s entrance is flat and well-formed, allowing for an excellent start to the hike. Fill yourself with the freshness of nature as you walk around the woodland park. Hike leisurely, strolling down a lovely valley trail.
Soon after, you’ll come across a small temple known as “Pokposa Temple.” Return to the trail after taking a look around Daeungjeon Hall. After passing Yangun Falls, with its white cascade and blue pond beneath, the uphill portion begins. You’ll soon cross Sinseongyo Bridge.
You can now see Haeundae’s downtown in the distance, indicating that you have traveled a great distance. The Neodul Zone, where rocks accumulate near the mountain’s base, is one of the mountain’s most distinctive features. While relaxing, you can read the information board and drink some water.
Forest trails and hiking paths are well-maintained on Jangsan Mountain. You can choose to hike on an easy forest track and then switch to a hiking path if you become bored.
Recharge your stamina in the silver grass field before continuing on your way to the summit. The trail is wide, but use caution when going amid the large rocks. You’re almost there when you will spot the stone marker in a place with hard rocks. The sky feels close to your head as if you could reach out and touch it. Choose a rock to sit on and take in the breathtaking scenery.
The location offers views of Marine City, the Gwangandaegyo Bridge, and the Gwangalli seashore. In the distance, you can see Bongnaesan Mountain, Hwangnyeongsan Mountain, and Geumjeongsan Mountain, as well as downtown Busan, which stretches between the mountains. Take your time enjoying the fresh breeze and feeling the unspoiled soul of nature.
You can go to Jungbong Observatory with a beautiful view on your journey down the steep forest road, which is a bit challenging to walk, before arriving at Jungbong Peak. The wooden deck connects Jungbong Peak to Ongnyeobong Peak. These, as well as the lovely ridges, provide scenery as refreshing as the ocean.
The tiny trail with varying points of uphill and downhill helps you enjoy the walk with never a dull moment during your descent. Enjoy varied hiking pathways, including dirt and rocky sections, as well as a deck walk, and you’ll soon arrive at the valley you observed on your trip up. The cool water appears to be cheering on your tired legs. Finally, your thoughts are cleared, and you have that wonderful fresh feel.
