Yeosu is a lovely city, and visitors come back not only to see the gorgeous mountains and oceans but also to sample the delicious local cuisine. While there are some amazing restaurants, Koreans have a love for cafes that go beyond coffee. Hence there are countless chains available all over Yeosu, as well as some intimate cafes.
Well, having so many options may confuse you, so we have compiled a list of the 5 best cafes for you to visit.
Hemingway café
The Hemingway Café, located on the iconic Dolsan Bridge, is a favorite hangout spot for many. The café’s décor is a touch antiquated, but it still is a good location to spend some quality time, thanks to the soft couches, big floors, and ceiling windows. You will definitely love the breathtaking views of Gamak bay from Hemingway café.
The menu is very small, yet everything it offers is really delicious.
Expo Sky Café
Expo Sky Café is located in the heart of the Yeosu Expo site. On the first two floors, an old grain silo has been converted into a Yeosu Bay information center. If you buy a 2,000 won ticket, you can use the elevator to go to the Expo Sky Café at the top.
For someone looking for a simple environment with some tasty snacks, this is the place to go. The café’s cuisine consists primarily of coffee, ice cream, and pastries, but it is the view from the top that has made it so popular.
You can enjoy the full aerial view of the Expo site from up there. The whole space is surrounded by ceiling windows. There are two balconies for the customers to enjoy some fresh air. If you’re not afraid of heights, go to the place inside the glass floor for spectacular views.
Ojakgyo Tea House and Pension
If you enjoy tea, we strongly advise you to pay a visit to Oakgyo Tea House and Pension, located nearby Cheongsol Apartments. It is well-known for its various delicious teas. There are also a variety of coffee drinks available. Its menu, on the other hand, is somewhat limited.
During the summertime, try out the bingsu while admiring the beautiful bay views from the balcony.
Lapikkeu
Lapikkeu is one of the most beautiful and best cafes in Yeosu. It’s an excellent spot for a cup of your favorite coffee while taking in the sights of the Yeosu shoreline. However, one peculiar feature of the place is that you have to order the beverages separately from the baked items and desserts. In terms of taste, all of the items are delectable.
The café has various buildings, each of which is joined by a flight of steps and a terrace. You might wish to take the elevator to the boardwalk. Since the entire premise is extremely huge, it is easy to get disoriented. We recommend that you use your markers to return to the original place.
Wind on the Hill Café
You have to take a journey down Dolsan to find Wind on the Hill Café. As its name suggests, the café is located on the top of a hill with a view of the bay. It’s a modest café with an unusually appealing aesthetic. It is well known for its teas, although it also provides pastries and coffee.
If you enjoy the tranquil ambiance and choose to spend the night there, this café also serves as a pension. Comfy accommodations with beautiful sea views, as well as the serenity of the entire place, are definitely a winning combination.
Yeosu has some of the best cafes, but we feel that the above-mentioned ones are unique and worth visiting.
