Following the previous successful global concert of Kpop megastar BTS, the Busan government plans to launch a special ‘BTS-World Expo 2030 Road’ as one of the top tourist attractions in South Korea.
Busan to Launch a Special ‘BTS-World Expo 2030 Road’ Following the Successful Global Concert
Kpop megastar BTS recently held a successful global concert in Busan to support the city’s bid to bring the World Expo 2030 to South Korea.
After the global concert gained massive attention, Busan plans to launch a ‘BTS-World Expo 2030 Road’ around Asiad Main Stadium. This effort is to appreciate the enormous support BTS has given for World Expo 2030 bidding process. And that is especially after BTS and its agency HYBE had willingly conducted a global concert for free, with the assistance of various sponsors.
Bringing BTS & ARMY as The Main Theme and Top Tourist Attraction in South Korea After the Global Concert
So what does creating ‘BTS-World Expo 2030 Road’ mean?
According to the announced plan last week, Busan will once again light up the area surrounding Asiad Main Stadium, where BTS held their concert. The Busan Metropolitan Government stated they would decorate the road with purple lights up to 1 kilometer, marking the iconic symbol of BTS and their beloved fans, ARMY.
Furthermore, the city will also use the opportunity to further carry out its bidding plans for World Expo 2030 Korea.
Busan government plans to place images and catchphrases along with the purple lights, using laser projectors down the sidewalk. And they will mark the destination as one of the top tourist attractions in the city. That is why the government is also planning to host various events in the area while holding a campaign for World Expo 2030 bidding process.
Previously, Busan had lighted up the city to celebrate BTS global concert. Knowing that the concept was incredibly successful and gained massive global attention, it seems that BTS and ARMY will officially become the city’s bidding theme to bring World Expo 2030 to South Korea.
Will Busan Manage to Bring World Expo 2030 to South Korea?
Currently, Busan-Korea is competing with Rome (Italy) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) in their bidding to become the host of World Expo 2030. That is why Busan tried to acquire more power by insisting on inviting BTS to become its official bidding ambassador.
The process will take a whole year until the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) decides on the winner at the general assembly in November 2023.
If Busan manages to become the host of World Expo 2030, it will mark South Korea as the 7th country in the world to host all three world’s largest events after Olympics and World Cup.
