Ggeek Beer Company

An amazing Korean microbrewery that was added to the list of the latest breweries in Korea – Ggeek produces a diverse range of irresistible craft beer and deserves the first spot on every list. Yet, even if you try them all, you cannot choose the best out of their exhaustive and fresh selection of distinctive flavor profiles that they boast of.

You must try out their Smimm IPA, which you will absolutely love and can easily drink all day long. Infused with a nice balance of aroma from the rye, caramel malt, and lemon, it is also quite lightweight, on the other hand, to enjoy with their evening snacks menu. Their Gulp Lager (Ggul Ggeok) is an absolute must-try if you don’t want a ‘too hoppy’ beer. Overall, the ambiance, flavors, and hospitality at Ggeek are totally unmissable for any Seoul tourist!

Ggeek beer is one of the award-winning beers in Korea and has received all 6 awards from the 2023 KIBA (Korea International Beer Award), which gives them great credibility. The event international beer competition was held for two days, from April 5th to 6th, at COEX. It is the perfect option for beer lovers who want to visit Korea’s best Craft Beer scenes.

Magpie Brewing

Originally from Jeju, Magpie are present in quite a few locations in Seoul. While their Hongdae branch closed in 2017, their Itaewon taproom offers eight taps of their original brews at the lowest prices and also offers seasonal releases in addition to the core beers. The most popular core beers you will enjoy there are IPA, Pale Ale, Porter, and Koelsch while their seasonal list looks at some of the other magnificent flavors like Ghost Gose, Bring Spring Saison, and Last Train Baltic porter. Also, they serve one of the best pizzas with their beers. They are a must-see since they produce some of the best artisan beer in Seoul. The staff there is also the very welcoming you can ever encounter.

Euljiro Brewing

This is a fun brewery taproom with some fantastic decor hidden down a neon-lit lane in Seoul’s Euljiro area. You can spot it from a distance by the sickest logo you see in the lane! Euljiro Brewing has set up two taprooms in the same alley, almost opposite one another across the street. So you can always try the other if the first one is full. Two of Euljiro’s best hop flavors that you must try are Session Seersucker IPA (at 5.5% alcohol content) and a new flavor they introduced in 2022 – the Pink Chambray Saison Farmhouse Ale (at 5.2% alcohol content). Pizza is the most ordered side dish here for its unbeatable taste, but you could try other items too; they are equally good!

The Ranch Brewing

With a Daejeon origin, Ranch Brewing has quite a respectable draught beer selection. They feature whopping 14 taps in their taproom, which is almost always filled with people. For a big beer, it costs approximately between 7,000 to 8,000 Won. Ranch Brewing is the place to go for high-quality craft beer at fair costs and friendly hospitality! We assure you that the food, beer, and the staff too – you would be really impressed! They also have a full platter of amazing sides, like various styles of pizza with toppings like shrimp, sausages, and much more. Overall, Ranch is one of the best Korean microbreweries for a full group dinner or evening snack if you are in Seoul.

Seoul Brewery, Hannam

Seoul Brewery basically has two taprooms – one in Hapjeong and the other in Hannam. While both of the places are really good, most tourists prefer the Hannam one for their cute little trendy interiors to sit and chat for hours over amazing beer selections. Seoul Brewery also features a decent selection of beers and an amazing food menu! If you are visiting Seoul Brewery, you must absolutely try out their stout and porter – they are bound to leave you asking for more! Talking about their food menu, you will get plenty of options in bite-sized snacks to enjoy along with your beer, like cheese fries, crispy anchovies, peanuts, and more!
