Each season in Korea has its own attractiveness. Spring, for example, is the best season for those who love the beauty of flowers and warmth. Cherry blossom festivals in Korea occur during the first two weeks of April. Meanwhile, May is a popular month to visit Korea as it has milder weather when tourists love to wander around enjoying the country’s beauty. Yet, Kdrama fans planning a trip to South Korea during cherry blossoms season should put these filming locations on the itinerary.

Kdrama Filming Locations to Visit during Cherry Blossoms Season

Yonsei University

In “Cheer Up” (2022), Yonsei University is the key location to establish the tone of the drama. The main characters attend Yonsei University, including Do Hae-yi (Han Ji-hyun).

During Cherry Blossoms season, Yonsei University is filled with cherry blossom trees. You can stroll around the campus and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Yeouidong-ro

Many Kdramas use Yeoidong-ro as one of their filming locations for its beauty, including “Strong Woman Do Bong-Soon” (2017). The beauty and magic of the cherry blossoms add to the overall romantic tone of the Kdrama.

Located in Yeoido, Yeouidong-ro is lined with over 1,800 cherry blossom trees. Stroll during Cherry Blossoms season on Yeoidong-ro and enjoy the stunning flowery tunnel.

Incheon Jayu Park

In “Business Proposal” (2022), Incheon Jayu Park is the location for the final scene where the main Kang Tae-moo (Ahn Hyo-seop) and Shin Ha-ri (Kim Se-jeong) reunite after some time apart. The romantic scene of the Kdrama is perfect with the fresh feeling of the park with cherry blossoms.

Incheon Jayu Park is located in Incheon and is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of cherry blossoms. The mountains surrounding the park give a magical touch to the picturesque scenery.

Geumpa-ro

In “Start-Up” (2020), Nam Do-san (Kim Kang-hoon) and Seo Dal-mi (Heo Jung-eun) first encounter as children in Geumpa-ro. Meanwhile, in “A Piece of Your Mind” (2020), Moon Ha-won (Jung Hae-in) and Han Seo-woo (Chae Soo-bin) share a warm embrace under the cherry blossom trees in Geumpa-ro, making it a romantic spot for couples.

Geumpa-ro, a street in Gimpo with Cherry Blossom trees, is also known as Gimpo’s Annual Cherry Blossoms Festival. It is because the road is over 1 km long and is one of Korea’s most famous Cherry Blossoms viewing spots.

Suwon Hwaseong Fortress

Lee Seung-cheon (Yook Sung-jae) of “The Golden Spoon” (2022) learns of his fate at Suwon Hwaseong Fortress. Meanwhile, in “Twenty-Five Twenty-One” (2022), Na Hee-do (Kim Tae-ri) and Baek Yi-jin (Nam Joo-hyuk) meet again in this place.

Located in Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, Suwon Hwaseong Fortress is actually a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The beauty of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress makes it featured as one of the filming locations of Kdrama.
