While it’s not the most popular islands in South Korea, Gaudo Island (가우도) is a must visit, thanks to the stunning views of crystal clear sea and endless skies. This little paradise is not swarming with tourists and international visitors, making it perfect for a day trip.

Gaudo Island, the sole inhabited island among the eight islands of Gangjinman Bay, offers a unique and picturesque experience. Its name, “Gaudo,” derives from its resemblance to a cow’s meonge (curved stick) when viewed from Boeunsan Mountain. Surrounded by the stunning beauty of Gangjinman Bay, Gaudo Island boasts a rich and varied natural ecosystem. Discover the silver magnolia, cypress colony, and Japanese black pines that thrive in this coastal paradise.
