Testament to Seoul’s excellence in culinary world, four Korean restaurants are now in the top 50 list of Asia’s best.
- at No. 13, Mingles, a contemporary Korean restaurant (was at 28th position last year) – Chef Kang Min-goo reimagines Korean classics with a focus on a trio of house-made “jang” (fermented pastes): “ganjang” (soy sauce), “doenjang” (soybean paste) and “gochujang” (chili pepper paste). Also a Michelin Star restaurant.

What is Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants?
The Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants is a regional edition of the world-renowned ranking system for culinary establishments. Votes are cast by over 300 industry experts across Asia, including food critics, chefs, and restaurateurs.
While nine Korean restaurants landed within Asia’s top 100 (up from seven last year), there was a bittersweet note. Joo Ok, ranked No. 51 in 2023, closed its doors in December and is relocating to Manhattan next month. However, this slight loss is overshadowed by the impressive gains made by Seoul’s culinary scene, solidifying its position as a major player in Asian gastronomy.
Other restaurants in Asia’s top 100
- Eatanic Garden at No. 62
- BORN&BRED at No. 64
- Solbam at No. 65
- Kwonsooksoo at No. 89
- Alla Prima at No. 91
