OutDark (Hongdae Branch)

Outdark is located in a thriving commercial zone of Hongdae, and this place is always packed most of the time. This fried chicken restaurant started in Busan, but due to its rapid increase in popularity, it extended to Seoul. It currently has branches in vibrant neighborhoods like Ida and Hongdae. As a result, both Koreans and foreigners highly love this place. Expect large lines every time you walk by; be ready to wait for your mealtime.

Outdark is the perfect place for social gatherings with friends or romantic dates. This spot has a lovely eating atmosphere, warm, golden lighting, and bistro-style decor. The quantities are substantial, and they have delicious fried chicken. Fried rice cakes, French fries, and four sauces are served with every order of fried chicken. One of their best offerings is their ice-cold beer at OutDark Hongdae.

Outdark’s French fries are noteworthy and highly recommended, particularly for those who love French fries. Outdark sells fried chicken in various flavors, but we strongly suggest getting their original fried chicken. With the convenience of four delicious dipping sauces, you may taste the genuine flavor of their famous meal.

Chicken Minjok Hongdae Branch (치킨의민족홍대점)

If you’re in Hongdae and craving fried chicken and beer, Chicken Minjok is a top choice for Chimaek. This place is located at the heart of Hongdae, which is also the main shopping street. As a result, you will be able to find this place easily. In terms of the menu here in this outlet, you have various fried chicken options. Moreover, you can choose from broad sauce options like sweet, spicy, and soy sauce.

Craft Hans Yeonnam Branch

This outlet in Hongdae is known for its Korean Craft Beer. You get to experience authentic local Korean beer, a popular drink in Korea. Some of its varieties include Yeonnamdong Pale Ale, Gangnamyeok Weisen, and Itaewon IPA. Each of these craft beers is always available in Craft Hans. You can try these beers with the special crispy chicken served in the same outlet.

Craft Hans Yeonnam Branch has one special chicken item, “Hans Crispy Chicken.” Make sure you try out the special Hans crispy chicken with the craft beer. Apart from that, this outlet also has another food item that people love, Hans Homemade Sausage. Don’t miss out on trying the sausage; it’s equally delicious.

Noona-holdak Hongdae

Located near the back alleyways of exits 8 and 9 at Hongik University station, Noona-Holdak Hongdae is a cozy place to chill at night. It is a perfect spot for people who want to stay out late at night. Here you can eat baked chicken, but also rice cakes, French fries and other side dishes. Of course, we recommend you try the sides with Chimaek. The chickens served in this spot are oven-baked and come with various sauces. If you are a foreigner in the country, you will also find it easy to read the menu since it is also in English.

The store’s location is ideal for night owls; it’s best experienced in the evening. You can also come here during the day if you are unavailable during late hours.

Chicken In the Kitchen

Chicken In The Kitchen is the first store for the Hongdae locals and visitors. This Korean outlet gradually became popular through word of mouth, and now they are popular worldwide. Here, you can eat crispy and full-of-flavor fried chicken that the store claims to be healthier than competitors. All the herbs and spices used by this franchise are authentic and healthier. Other food items available in Chicken In The Kitchen are pizza, tteokbokki, spaghetti, and onion rings.
