Discover the beauty and innovation of Korean traditional craft with the Seoul Hanok Brand Craft Product Series, SARANG.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government has launched a new collection of craft products inspired by traditional Korean hanok houses. The products, designed by five artists, aim to promote South Korean culture and lifestyle.
Seoul Hanok Brand Craft Product Series
The collection, “Seoul Hanok Brand Craft Product Series,” will be on showcase at the Seochon Lounge in Seoul from August 13 to September 1. You can also purchase these products online and offline through the “Seoul Hanok Brand Shop,” which is opening soon.
The craft products draw inspiration from the Sarangchae and Sarangbang spaces of hanok houses, which were traditionally used for scholarly pursuits and entertaining guests. The artists have reimagined these spaces for modern-day use, creating items that blend traditional materials like Hanji, glass, metal, wood, and dak fiber with contemporary functionality.
