Seomyeon Shopping District is a popular destination for young people between Busan Station and Haeundae Beach. The streets are bustling with life all day long, with many cafes, bars, food alleyways, restaurants, cosmetics shops, and fashion stores. There is also a large department store (Lotte), cinemas, and underground malls.

Hwajeon Guksu

Hwajeon Guksu is a cheap noodle restaurant recognized for its large portions and excellent flavor, situated in the bustling downtown area of Seomyeon. The menu boasts both cold and hot noodles and distinctively bibimbap and Korea’s treasured gukbap pork soup.

What makes this restaurant’s brand special is the combination of great taste and reasonable prices. You can enjoy all the dishes without worrying about “breaking” your wallet. Moreover, the taste of the dishes here is unparalleled; you’ll be able to tell that even if you went to Korea, you wouldn’t find another flavor like it. One last thing to note: this restaurant will be open every day except for Sundays, which will close at 3 pm sharp. Therefore, please plan your time accordingly if you want to visit!

Matchandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Seomyeon

This restaurant attracts many international tourists because it is located near the Busan Lotte hotel. You can book a table online in advance to avoid waiting too long. The main dish that makes this restaurant famous is grilled meat; however, only pork is served (no beef). Despite this, each piece of juicy pork has made a lasting impression on customers.

The meat is served with various vegetables and side dishes, including rice, kimchi, and radish, all the free food. If you don’t like grilling the meat yourself, the friendly staff here will help you do it. Some other dishes, such as miso soup, salad bibimbap or cold noodles, are easy to eat and delicious. There’s nothing better than sipping some soju while enjoying traditional Korean dishes!

King Kong Budae Jjigae

The King Kong Budae Jjigae franchise, most notably the Seomyeon location in Busan, is famous for its less-salty yet still spicy Korean budae jjigae. If you don’t like spice, no problem–they have a non-spicy option too. This dish also contains an impressive variety of ingredients that make it quite rich overall. And did we mention that this place is a half-buffet? Yes, rice and noodles are unlimited here, so help yourself as much as possible!

Guwosamgi

The speciality dish at this Seomyeon “Roast and Boil” restaurant is the spicy squid pork pot. As the name suggests, you can get pork and Squid in this dish. It’s one of the favourite menus of Korean locals. The Squid is really big. Before it’s cut, you can see the whole Squid in the pan.

This meal is still filling, even if you only order the spicy squid pork pot. It comes with other ingredients such as clams, rice cakes, noodles, and eggs. And don’t worry about the spiciness level–you can choose how much heat you want in your dish.

The store has been open since 1946 and is currently in its third generation of ownership. The store gets its name from the woman who founded it, who comes from Songjung. Even though the store is located in Seomyeon, it still gives customers a sense of warmth and familiarity reminiscent of their hometowns.
