Seoul International Fireworks Festival

The Seoul International Fireworks Festival is a spectacular annual event held in October near Yeouido Hangang Park. It features fireworks displays from teams around the world and lasts for about an hour. Before the main event, you can enjoy a variety of fringe activities, including live music, food stalls, cultural performances, and shopping.

To ensure a comfortable experience, it’s best to arrive early. You can also opt to bring a blanket or mat, wear comfortable shoes, and be prepared for crowds. And most importantly, don’t forget to capture the stunning fireworks with your camera!

When is Seoul International Fireworks Festival?

Every year, the festival lights up the sky in October.

In 2024, the Seoul International Fireworks Festival is on October 5, 2024.

Where to watch the fireworks?

The Yeouido Hangang River Park becomes packed with people coming to watch the sky light up. If you are planning to visit Seoul and enjoy the fireworks, you can find spots to avoid crowds. The event venue at the Hangang River Park, 63 City Sky Lounge, and north riverside at Nodeulseom Island are usually the most packed with people. If you don’t mind watching the fireworks from a distance, you can head up to Namsan Park.

Many cafes across the river host special seating arrangements during the festival. This way, you can book your spot and watch the lit sky without too many people crowding you. If you can get a spot on a boat cruise on the river, that’s the most romantic spot.

Best spots

Hosted by Hanwha Group, following are some of the best spots you can check out.

  • Golden Ticket Seats – The Golden Tickets are available through the Golden Ticket event hosted by the website. These are some of the best spots in Seoul where you can see the fireworks explode over and there’s the stage right infront of you.
  • Multi Plaza in Yeouido Han River Park – It is a classic spot which is usually packed with people clamoring to get the best spot. If you choose to go there, you will get the full vibe of the event.
  • Ichon Han River Park – A hidden gem, this park allows you to get the best views of the festival. While it’s not the most close, you can see a wide expanse of the river and a completely different perspective of the fireworks.

How to get there?

This festival becomes really packed with people so the roads are mostly jammed. It’s best to take the water taxi to the event location so that you can avoid the rush.
