With the Trip PASS app, tourists can now efficiently utilize their mobile passports for identification purposes, eliminating the need for physical documents. Additionally, the app provides the convenience of immediate tax refunds, further streamlining the process for these travelers at participating stores. Mobile Debit Cards for Seamless Travel Payments
The Seoul Trip PASS app offers more than just mobile passports. Foreign tourists can now also get a mobile debit card through the app. This mobile debit card is easy to top up using their credit cards. With this versatile debit card, tourists can enjoy smooth payments for public transit options like subways, buses, and taxis.
Moreover, tourists can purchase items using a Trip PASS mobile debit card at participating stores. This additional feature makes navigation and payment for activities in Seoul even more convenient.
Both the mobile debit cards and the passports are issued in the form of a QR code within the app. This design ensures that users can easily access and use their cards and passports, providing a seamless and straightforward experience.

Availability and Usage
Android users can now download the updated Trip PASS app. As for iPhone users, the service will be available starting from late January 2024.
The Trip PASS application currently supports five languages: Korean, Japanese, English, simplified Chinese, and traditional Chinese. This multi-language support allows users from different countries to use the app comfortably.
In the first half of 2024, they will expand the Trip PASS application’s language support to include Vietnamese and Thai languages. Moreover, tourists from China can easily access the functions of the Trip PASS application through WeChat’s Trip PASS feature. They do not need to download Trip PASS separately, as payment can be made using WeChat Pay. The Trip PASS application provides a convenient and seamless experience for Chinese travelers.

Expansion of Locations
Currently, various outlets around the city, including CU convenience stores and Lotte Duty-Free locations, accept mobile debit cards. These locations also offer tax refunds. Starting from the first half of 2024, Hyundai Duty-Free Shops, Shinsegae Duty-Free stores, and GS25 convenience stores will begin accepting mobile debit cards. This expansion will allow users to use their mobile debit cards at these additional locations conveniently.

Earlier this month, the Seoul Metropolitan Government launched Taba, a taxi-hailing app designed for overseas visitors. Additionally, Seoul Metro, the leading operator of Seoul’s subway system, introduced real-time, interactive translation services through AI-powered screens at Line No. 4’s Myeongdong Station. These services provide translations from Korean to 12 languages. By April, the plan is to expand this feature to five other subway stations in the city, further enhancing convenience for international travelers in Seoul.
