If you are looking for some unique gifts and souvenirs in Seoul, check out these shopping places in Euljiro, a hip and upcoming region in the city.
Euljiro, a major thoroughfare in Seoul’s downtown area, unexpectedly sees its second boom as young social media users have started frequenting the neighborhood.
The street and its immediate vicinity have long been the heart of Korea’s industrialization and economic development, with tiny metal workshops, print businesses, lighting stores, and other similar enterprises.
When you think of Euljiro, perhaps shopping isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. However, there are still many exciting shops to visit.
Euljiro was formerly known for having many print shops, metal products firms, lighting shops, and other businesses. You may still notice remnants of that today. Although you won’t be purchasing those things during your stay in Seoul, seeing traces of what Euljiro used to be like is still fascinating.
Take a look at some of the finest Euljiro locations for shopping!
Bangsan Market
There are several shops in this market close to Euljiro 4-ga Station. Walking towards the building, you’ll pass several businesses on the streets selling things like packaging. There are also many stores to buy everything you need to create candles, diffusers, fragrances, and baking goods. As you can see, most of the goods begin at around 500-1,000 won.
If you don’t want to make your own, they offer a variety of ready-made goods ranging from around 10,000 won for these adorable candles.
Cosmos Wholesale
When you walk into Cosmos Wholesale, located on the second floor of Euljiro 3-ga Shopping Center, you’ll notice that it resembles the center of the cosmos. Old records, classic novels, and antique bells and whistles from Korea and worldwide are also available for purchase. Shoppers may also purchase traditional Korean teas there. The store, which is symbolic of the growing new-tro (a combination of “new” and “retro”) trend, is packed with unique items that harken back to Seoul’s ancient days. Another thing to remember is that because some of the items are so unique, you may not know where they originated or how much they cost.
Grandma Cabinet
Because the Euljiro region is known for its hip yet vintage atmosphere, it’s no surprise to find such businesses. If you’re shopping for something different, Grandma Cabinet is the place to go! It has been converted into a shop from a karaoke room. Each room has its collection, and the interior is adorned with an antique feel.
They specialize in trinkets, clothing, accessories, figurines, and mugs.
Mind Things
This is a stationery shop on the second floor of the structure. It won’t be easy to depart without purchasing anything once you walk through the doors. The bright, well-organized interior allows you to browse around easily and locate what you need. These stationary goods range between 2,000 and 3,000 won.
They also have stationery and bags, pouches, and phone covers. Everything is reasonably priced!
Zero Things
Zero Things and Mind Things can be found on the top floor of this house, which is accessed by a movable door. It’s a store that focuses on environmentally friendly goods.
The store, like Mind Things, is highly open and bright on the inside, and it was well-organized. You’ll discover a variety of fascinating things here as well!
They also sell various goods, including soaps, phone covers, and backpacks. Most things appeared to be in the 10,000-40,000 won range. Phone cases, for example, cost around 16,000 won.
Fennec Square
People in their twenties tend to like Fennec because it sells reasonably priced, high-quality leather goods. They’re also recognized for producing bright items. They produced wallets and handbags and jewelry, phone covers, AirPod cases, and Apple Watch straps.
The prices are the same as those advertised on their website. Wallets start at around 30,000 won, and most jewelry starts at around 15,000 won. They frequently have sales, making their items even more accessible!
Lotte Department Store
Euljiro 1-ga Station has a huge Lotte Department Store, where you can find anything you need for beauty or skincare, with a variety of brands to choose from.
Both men’s and women’s clothing is for sale, with everything from business to leisure clothes. The costs are comparable to those advertised on the firms’ websites. There are various things to do in the mall, including restaurants, cafés, and a movie theater if you need some rest.
There are numerous shops in Euljiro that you can visit. The district is full of life, and it’s worth taking some time to explore! With so much diversity, you’re sure to find something that catches your eye. Whether you’re looking for rare items or everyday necessities, Euljiro has you covered. Happy shopping!
