Sansuyu – Beautiful Yellow Flowers

Gurye Sansuyu Village

You can catch the first glimpse of the spring season at this village as it arrives here the earliest. Gurye Sansuyu Village is abode to nearly 70% of the Sansuyu trees all across the nation. The whole place seems clad in yellow color in March. The village is divided into three portions: the upper village, the lower village, and the Bangok Village.

If you reach the upper village, you can see the full view of the area from here. In the lower village, you can stroll through the colorful trees. There is a place called The Sansuyu Love Park situated at the village entrance. The park has many sculptures and shooting spots which make it a perfect place for those who want to click some photographs.

Bangok Village

Next comes on our list is Bangok Village, don’t confuse it with Bangkok. It is situated at the Gurye Sansuyu Village entrance. Here also, you will find plenty of sansuyu trees. This beautiful location is best for witnessing the popular spring season. The yellow flowers here create a beautiful scene alongside the stream that flows crossing the large rocks.

Another attraction to see here is Flower Road, where you find a plethora of flowers. The other major attractions to see are Sansuyu culture hall, Sansuyu love park, and the nearby market. The whole course length is nearly 3.6 km, and it takes one hour and few more minutes to cover it whole by strolling.

Maehwa – Gorgeous White Flowers

Gwangyang Maehwa Village

The Gwangyang Maehwa Village earned its name due to the presence of large maehwa trees here. These trees grow in the Daap-Myeon region of Gwangyang. These beautiful trees cover the landscape with white flowers every spring. The whole scene is then worth watching. These trees also provide the essential resources for the biggest plum plantation area in Korea, Cheongmaesil Farm.

Here at this farm, you will find plenty of products derived from plums like pillows, side dishes, and other items. In addition, every year Gwangyang Maehwa Festival is held. In this festival, the Cheongmaesil farm conducts many manual programs in which the person has to use plum to make eatables or other products.

Also, don’t forget to relish the delicious maehwa ice cream. It is available at almost every shop in the whole village. This ice cream is not like your regular ice cream made using normal milk cream. Instead, this maehwa ice cream offers a smooth and sweet taste of delicious unripped plums. Take one bite, and you will feel heavenly like you are eating the maehwa flowers.

Cherry Blossoms – Sweet Pink Flowers

Seomjingang Trail

Seomjingang is a 40 km long trail, and you find here a long line of cherry blossoms till the end. While walking on this trail, breathe in the refreshing scent of cherry blossoms.

You can choose to walk to enjoy the elegance of the place or travel by car or bicycle. To get the best view, we suggest paying a visit during the end of March or early April.

Hwaeomsa Temple’s Red Cherry Tree

Most of the maehwa flowers are white. However, here at the Hwaeomsa Temple, they are bright pink and sprout every spring. Along with their rich color, the flowers emit a strong, pleasing scent.

The temple has a beautiful higan cherry tree inside, which pulls the attention of the travelers. This big tree blooms far early compared to other varieties of the cherry tree. To witness the natural beauty of this tree, come here in April. Moreover, the tree is regarded as the Natural Monument no, 38.

Ssangsanje

Lastly comes Ssangsanje, it is one of the best spring beauties destination in Jeollanam-do. Take a break here. Here catch sight of traditional houses that made an appearance in Youn’s Stay, a popular Korean reality program. The foreigners visiting Korea stay here to enjoy the Korean culture.

All the traditional houses are made artistically, preserving the ambiance and sprawled over an area of the 16,500-meter square. The entire complex has buildings of different types and sizes with several plant species in the gardens. Unfortunately, right now, the accommodation option is not available. But you can still enjoy the excellent architecture of the buildings and spring season with a soothing cup of warm tea.

Here our list of best places to see in Jeollanam-do during the Spring Season ends. Depending upon your choice, you can begin the journey from any place. Share with us in the comments regarding how your journey was. We hope you will have a wonderful experience.
