“Squid Game: The Experience,” an immersive experience themed around the Emmy-winning Netflix series, is set to open in Seongsu-dong, on February 28.
Along with all the existing Squid Game pop ups and events in Seoul, there’s another one coming to the city from February 28–Squid Game: The Experience. It is an immersive entertainment complex with gaming zone, photo zones, themed food and beverage, and some exclusive merchandise.
The “Squid Game: The Experience” is a whole event themed around the Emmy-winning Netflix series. It will give fans a unique opportunity to enter into the world of the globally hit series. The event will open in Seongsu-dong, eastern Seoul from February 28 and run through June 25.
Participants start the unique experience by scanning their faces to register as players and head to a dormitory for a game briefing. Over the next 90 minutes, they compete in six games inspired by the popular series. Some of the games include marbles, a treasure hunt, Red Light, Green Light, and tug-of-war. And, just like the series, the last one to win gets to be the final champion!
There will be “Younghee’s Playground” to explore which is essentially a space with all the series inspired food and drinks. Photo zones will allow visitors to capture some unforgettable moments. The playground will also feature official “Squid Game” merchandise.
The “Squid Game: The Experience” is now in other cities like Madrid, Sydney, and Seoul after its big debut in New York in October 2024. The New York version sold out for eight whole weeks after it came out, according to Netflix.
