Goyang is now included in Seoul’s unlimited transit pass system
Goyang, Gyeonggi-do is the fifth locality outside Seoul that has joined the Seoul’s unlimited transit pass system. Other localities already included in the system are Incheon, Gimpo, Gunpo and Gwacheon.
Climate Card is essentially a transit pass without limits, designed to curb city pollution by promoting increased use of public transportation.
In this, 26 new subway stations in Goyang will be added. Of these 26, the distribution will be something like this:
- 10 stations along subway line No. 3 from Daehwa Station to Samsong Station;
- 10 stations along the Gyeongui-Jungang Line from Tanhyeon Station to Korea Aerospace University Station;
- six stations along Seohae Line from Ilsan Station to Neunggok Station.
The Seoul Transit Pass already covers 20 city bus routes traveling to Goyang. The Climate Card inclusion will officially launch in July, making it easier for locals and tourists to travel between Seoul and Goyang.
Nighttime tours of Gyeongbokgung, the main Joseon royal palace to resume
The popular nighttime tours of Gyeongbokgung Palace will resume from April 3 and the ticket sale will start from this Friday. The tour will cost KRW 60,000 ($45) and will include a royal “dosirak,” or a boxed meal of dishes enjoyed by the Joseon (1392-1910) royals. It will be followed by a guided tour of the palace’s northern side.
Each tour will be limited to 34 people at a time. There will be two tours each day at 6:40 p.m. and 7:40 p.m, except on Mondays and Tuesdays.
