Suncheon is a quaint little city in the South Jeolla Province of South Korea.

When it comes to Suncheon, you’ll not want for things to do in Suncheon. You can explore the mudflats or try delicious Korean food – whatever tickles your fancy! Here are the top things to do in Suncheon to enjoy your trip to the fullest!

Roam around the Suncheon Culture Street 

The city is famous for its art, and artists from various regions have gathered in the Hyang-dong neighborhood. There are many galleries, exhibition rooms, shops, and studios.

Visit Nageupseong Folk Village in Suncheon

Naganeupseong Folk Village is also known as Fortress village. It was designed to defend the country against Japanese pirates. At one time, they were the center of life in the county, but only a few remain in the country now.

Enjoy a walk along the Dongchun River

Dongchun River is the most beautiful and best picnic spot for all picnic lovers. The walk along the river is exceptionally beautiful when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. 

Enjoy clicking pictures at Suncheon Mudflats

These famous mudflats are featured in the BBC documentary. You can find them on Waon Beach (와온해변). The best time to explore the mudflats is during the summers when you can chill out at the beach!

Hike up Bonghwasan

Bonghwasan is the central mountain in Suncheon in the way that the whole city is built around the mountain. You can hike up the peak and enjoy the beautiful views of the entire city. 

If you are looking for an adventure, try hiking all the way around the mountain. 

Enjoy the Korean Tea Ceremony experience at Suncheon Wild Tea House

Things To Do In Suncheon

The Wild Tea House is just on the way down from Seonamsa Temple. You can participate in the Korean tea ceremony program. It will even let you learn the basic etiquette and customs of darye.

Unknown Coffee Service 

After roaming around the city, if you feel like relaxing with a refreshing drink, you can head to Unknown Coffee Service, a café within walking distance from Suncheon Bay National Garden. 

Lemonade and apple cinnamon crumble are some of the most popular items on the menu. There are seasonal menu options that the café shares on its Instagram page.

Enjoy eating and wandering around Araetjang

If you love food, then you must spend time in Araetjang. It is a big outdoor market with a bunch of food stands, and you can enjoy Korean street food.
