Make a wish at Hyangiram Hermitage
Located at a 45-minute driving distance from Yeosu, Hyangiram Hermitage is a sea-facing Buddhist temple and is one of the most visited places n Yeosu. The symbol of the temple is that of a turtle. This is because the hexagonal pattern on the rocks resembles the shell of a turtle.
The popular time to visit it is during the Sunrise Festival when everyone gathers to enjoy the first sunrise of the New Year.
There is a steep walk to the top of the temple. The hike may not be easy for all but if you can manage to get to the top, the breathtaking views will ease all the pain. We highly recommend that you wear proper hiking shoes during this.
You can take the bus route line 111 to visit Hyangiram Hermitage if you do not have a car. It starts from the harbor area and takes around 2 hours to reach the temple. Start early so that you can spend more time on the temple complex.
Bathe at Manseongri Beach
Located at Manheung-dong in Yeosu, this “black sand” beach is a must-visit when in Yeosu. Be it sightseeing or taking some amazing snaps, Manseongri beach is great for spending some quality time. You can also bathe there. The locals consider the water to be holy and that taking a dip help heal neuritis and several other diseases.
The entire Manseongri beach looks exotic. You can view the Southern Sea and Odongdo Island from there and they are breathtaking. Do enjoy the blue crab soup while on the beach. You will get it almost in all the nearby seafood restaurants.
